How to Install and Use Trezor Suite

Trezor Suite is the secure desktop and web application developed by SatoshiLabs. It lets you manage your cryptocurrencies, access your wallet, send and receive funds, and customize your security—all while keeping your private keys offline.

Part 1: Installing Trezor Suite

✅ Step 1: Visit the Official Website

Go to https://trezor.io/start
This ensures you’re downloading the official software and not a fake version.

✅ Step 2: Choose Your Platform

Click Download Trezor Suite and select your operating system:

  • Windows
  • macOS
  • Linux

✅ Step 3: Install the Software

  • Open the downloaded file
  • Follow your operating system’s install prompts
  • Approve permissions when prompted
  • Launch Trezor Suite once installation is complete
Tip: Bookmark the official Trezor Suite site if you prefer the web version: suite.trezor.io/web.
For browser use, you'll also need to install Trezor Bridge.

Part 2: Setting Up Trezor Suite for the First Time

✅ Step 4: Connect Your Trezor Device

  • Plug in your Trezor hardware wallet via USB
  • Trezor Suite will automatically detect the device
  • Enter your PIN directly on the device when prompted

✅ Step 5: Install Firmware (If Needed)

If your device is brand new or firmware is outdated:

  • Suite will prompt you to install or update firmware
  • Confirm every step directly on your device screen
  • Don’t disconnect during this process

✅ Step 6: Create or Recover Your Wallet

You’ll be asked to:

  • Create a new wallet – Generates a new recovery seed phrase
  • Recover an existing wallet – Enter your existing 12/18/24-word seed on the device
Never type your seed phrase on the computer—only enter it on the device screen.

✅ Step 7: Back Up Your Recovery Seed

  • If creating a new wallet, the Trezor will display your seed phrase
  • Write it down in the correct order
  • Store it in a safe, offline location (not digitally)
